Don't Touch My Hair
An illustration inspired by a night out in Chicago. Unfortunately, I still experience times when people would constantly touch my hair, so this piece was made to inspire a sense of catharsis.

Portrait of a Dear Friend
This portrait is dedicated to a new friend Stylez, whom I met at one of my odd jobs in Chicago. We bonded over a movie and went to a local pizza shop. The details represent the symbols in the movie and the extra pizza Stylez forgot at the restaurant. I also wanted to highlight his desire to become more fluid in his gender presentation which I've also wanted to do; our connection as friends inspires this portrait.

"Frooty"
Reclamation is founded on the absurdity of derogatory words and phrases. It's often absurdity that people who identify in groups once berated find happiness in themselves.

"Alone"
Isolation is detrimental to the human experience. It's been quite a bit of time since I've seen my friends and family in person and I illustrated the moment of sorrow.

"Welcoming Femininity"
Feminity is such a daunting experience despite its fragile perception, but it's such a freeing experience when I embrace it. I'll never know how far I'll dive, but I don't feel any regrets at this time.

Self Portrait
Gye Nyame, the Adinkra Symbol that represents "the supremacy of god" is a major symbol in this self-portrait. This represents me welcoming my African Culture and making it a major part of my life.
